the guy with the answers.
I stood at the Trevi fountain
gazing into the sun-dappled crystal waters
when I saw a fish go by – a see-through fish.
I looked again, another fish, but this one had a lion’s head,
a small lion’s head.
This can’t be real, I said,
so find your hands, I said,
and sure enough,
my hands appeared
and I’m awake within my dream.
I feel a presence at my shoulder,
and turning left,
find me looking back at me, just looking.
Neither smiled, neither spoke;
but here was the guy with all the answers, I thought,
and all I had to do was ask.
