18. kick-off
Mike Tyson’s here in the drawing room
& we’re having iced tea,

but he’s been chewing my ear off
this last hour
me being the sheriff and all
and OJ’s called in
feeling all hard-done-to
& he’s really pissed
but I never knew he played
football though
when I catch a glimpse
of a few of the boys come for me:
they’re getting out the pick-up
they’re walking up the path
they’re on the bottom step of the porch
– and there’s only four steps
and I’d better think fast
like really fucking fast
cos they’re all done up
in bedsheets & pointy hats
out trick or treating
